CS4GA App and Design Challenge
The Georgia App Design Challenge encourages students to learn and apply computer science skills while building their confidence, motivation, and student portfolios. This statewide event allows Georgia students to develop and share their software applications on a platform of their choice.
To promote awareness, community service, and innovation, the theme of this challenge is Community Advocacy Project. This challenge encourages students to develop a mobile application that will solve a current problem facing their local community.
How do students enter their app?
Teachers will submit student projects (video and written responses) to the school for judging. Districts will submit district winners to GaDOE for judging. Districts will register student app development teams by March 1, 2023.
A complete submission will include the following components:
Written Response: The written response should be typed, double-spaced PDF, in a standard 12-point font (Times, Calibri or Arial). The written response must be submitted in pdf format. The total response should not exceed 750 words.
Demonstration Video: Students must create a 1-2 minute video, showcasing what the app does and how it works.
An information session will be held for district leaders and teachers. Awards and prizes will be given at the state level. We look forward to your district participating in this exciting event.
